Background of Study

Road vehicular accidents (RVA) are being recognized as one of the important public health challenges at the dawn of the new century. Intentional and unintentional injuries kill and maim people, often destroy families, and devastate communities. (Huston et al., 2007). They present a special challenge as health systems in general are least prepared to respond to this assault. In developing countries, between 5% and 20% of the burden of disease may be attributable to RVA. (Weddell et al., 1981).
